The Lamborghini Miura may be called the first true supercar. The idea first sprung to mind in 1965; a time when most Ferraris put their engines on the nose. A game changer then, this Miura.
Ferruccio Lamborghini wanted to prove that he can build not just tractors. He was enraged when one day he brought his Ferrari 250GT to Enzo because of a broken clutch. Enzo Ferrari said to him, “What can you possibly know about performance cars? You build tractors” in Italian.Hence, the feud between the two brands ever since.
Of course an angry Italian wanted to prove he can one-up another Italian. That is just how things are in Italy. Ferruccio first modified his 250GT and made it perform and ride better than stock Ferrari offerings. He made it also a mission to put parts that last longer. Which became the mission for Lamborghini cars in the years to come: Build better cars than Ferrari.

But that’s enough of a history lesson. What we have here is a pristine 1966 Miura S. the ‘S’ means it has a bit more power than a regular Miura, at 370 bhp. This took a rigorous 12-year restoration to acheive its concours standard look. For even more drama, the car’s shade is called “Arancio Miura”. Remember that first scene in The Italian Job?
Now for the catch. Its asking price is a cool 1.6 million. It is powered by a 4.0-litre V12 that outputs 370 hp via a 5-speed manual.
