If Goliath is the snow, then David would be this 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD All Mountain Concept. This mountain conquering vehicle lost its tyres and equipped Mattracks as the slingshot of choice.
This car, er, truck made its debut in Vail, Colorado. Based on the Sierra 2500HD – what does HD stand for, anyone? – Denali Crew Cab, it has a big, torquey lump of a diesel engine: 6.6-litre V-8 with 445bhp and 910 lb-ft of twist. All that is mated to an Allison six-speed automatic that drives all four, erm, tracks.
We won’t tell you much of what Carl Zipfel, GMC exterior designer, said in the release but he said this, “The Sierra All Mountain concept Mattracks technology enables the truck to conquer uncharted territory while highlighting premium interior features such as Bose speakers and upscale leather treatments.” So a truck that can also go and conquer a desert while you listen to some Kendrick Lamar while you overtake camels that won’t stumble over you somewhere in the desert because you’ve run out of fuel. Because you will reach your destination because it has a diesel.
See these beautiful red mechanicals? I hope they can be painted some other colour. Like yellow. Or white. While you contemplate on what other colors of the rainbow you can paint those mechanicals, the 2018 GMC Sierra 2500HD All Mountain Concept also comes with bodyside graphics, LED lights, a Rigid light bar, and Thule snowboard racks. Now if only this gets produced so we can bring it to the Philippines to do the Mt. Pinatubo trail which is famous to off-roaders. Or take it to Boracay which is famous the world over.
