Mark your calendars. The reveal date of the most awaited BMW M2 Competition is set on April 25. Ahead of that day, BMW has already given us a glimpse of how it will look like. Oh, goodie!
Aside from the images BMW revealed that under the bonnet will no longer be a souped-up N55, but a de-tuned version of the S55 from the M3/M4 twins. Suggested power figures are 410 hp and more than 370 lb-ft of twist as opposed to its big sisters’ 431 hp and 425 lb-ft. Given the M2’s size, it can be as quick – or even quicker – than the M4. With this kind of power on tap, it might just beat the Audi RS3 in a drag race.
What would a BMW M- Competition car be without a proper competition body kit? The new M2 competition gets sharper, larger front and rear aprons rendered in carbon fiber. New colors are also available. namely, Hockenheim Silver and Sunset Orange. Which are realy not new colors at all since it looks like any other silver and any other orange. We wish the M2 Competition is available in more outrageous colors, like the Rs3’s Nardo Gray and Viper Green.
BMW says it will charge an additional €10,000 from the standard M2. Aside from all of that we can’t really say much about it at this point as it is set to be unveiled in Beijing on the 25th of April. We can’t wait!
